Camp No Limits Staff

Camp No Limits has managed to help hundreds of children and families across the country with two core staff members and countless volunteers.

Mary Leighton is Camp No Limit’s Occupational Therapist. 

Mary graduated from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy.  She is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.  Mary worked in private pediatric practice as an occupational therapist at Therapy Corner in Winthrop, Maine for 7 years.  She now works as a contracted therapist in a variety of settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health settings when not working with children with limb loss and on Camp No Limits.  Mary also is a certified Pilates Instructor and integrates the therapeutic benefits of Pilates into therapy for children with physical, emotional, or cognitive deficits.  Mary specializes in working with children with upper extremity limb loss, providing training and adaptations to activities to provide the most functional and physically appropriate approach to completing activities of daily living with or without prosthetics.  Mary has upper extremity prosthetic training experience with all levels of unilateral and bilateral upper extremity limb loss training with the use of myoelectric, body powered, hybrid, recreational, and activity specific prosthetics.  She is proficient in training with the Myoboy training tool in preparation for myoelectic prosthetics.  She has presented on pediatric prosthetic training at various Otto Bock and Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics informational seminars for therapists and other health care professionals.  She has completed the ACA peer training program for health care professionals.  Mary is also the founder and executive director of No Limits Limb Loss Foundation aka Camp No Limits.
Kim Furlong is Camp No Limit’s Physical Therapist. 


Kim graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1988 with a Bachelors of Science in Physiotherapy and in 2000 with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. She has 18 years of experience working full time with persons with disabilities and impaired function due to orthopedic, neurological and vestibular disorders. She is NDT certified and has completed multiple post graduate courses in amputee rehab, vertigo and balance rehab and spinal cord injury management. She worked as a senior Physiotherapist in Newfoundland for 10 years before relocating to Waterville, Maine in 1998. She has spent the last 9 years working at Seton Rehab part of Maine General Hospital where she developed the Balance and Vertigo program and Lower Extremity Amputee program.  Kim has experience in lower extremity prosthetic training with all levels of unilateral and bilateral lower extremity limb loss using mechanical, hydraulic, and computerized prosthetics.  She has worked intensively with patients with lower limb loss over the past 5 years and has been a guest speaker at local hospitals and Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics education seminars on lower extremity amputee rehab. She is now working back in Newfoundland, Canada working in private practice when not working on the camp.
